This is because a registered breeder must adhere to specific standards when providing puppies for sale, and can have their registration revoked should they not be doing this. Check For Registration: Contact the local council of the breeder you’re interested in to find out if they’re registered, or your local council can recommend a breeder to you if you’re still searching. 

Parent Visit: If your breeder doesn’t allow you to visit your puppy, or see mum and dad in person before the sale, this is a red flag. Reputable breeders should always allow you to at least see the puppies with mum before sale. 

Records and Documentation: Registered breeders will have documents from vet visits, vaccines, and registration for the Kennel or Pedigree Club available for you to see. If your breeder cannot produce these, we advise backing out of the sale and finding a breeder who can.

Crates Training

Crate training is an extremely popular option for many dog owners as crates allow your dog to be shut away for safety during some situations, and provides them with their own space to relax. If you’re thinking about crate training, it’s important to choose one that will be large enough once your puppy is fully grown, or be mindful of costs to upgrade as your dog gets bigger. If you decide not to crate train, it’s still important to ensure your puppy has a safe space to go for certain situations, such as a spare room.
